The anticipated deal for the release of hostages in Gaza, contingent on a temporary truce, has encountered a delay as Israel's National Security Advisor confirmed its postponement until at least Friday.

Initially, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government had voted in favor of accepting the deal, announcing the intended implementation of the truce on Thursday, according to Xinhua news agency.

The proposed agreement outlined the release of at least 50 Israeli hostages in exchange for the freedom of a minimum of 150 Palestinian prisoners from Israeli custody, alongside the provision of essential humanitarian aid into Gaza.

However, late on Wednesday, Israel's National Security Council Director, Tzachi Hanegbi, conveyed that the hostage release would adhere to the original agreement between the involved parties, signaling a delay until at least Friday before its execution.
