American Ambassador Eric Garcetti highlighted India's significance as not just a strategic partner but a pivotal contributor to the global discourse aimed at addressing pressing issues and fostering enduring peace. Speaking on the India-US 2+2 Ministerial dialogue, Garcetti underscored the multifaceted nature of the growing relationship between the two countries.

The ambassador noted the recent 2+2 dialogue as indicative of a deepening relationship between the US and India, referencing the multiple visits made by top US officials to India this year. He highlighted the unprecedented level of engagement demonstrated by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.

The joint statement following the 2+2 dialogue reaffirmed both nations' commitment to securing a free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific through initiatives like the QUAD, particularly crucial amid the region's escalating geopolitical tensions.

Regarding US investments in India, Garcetti expressed anticipation for increased visitor numbers and substantial investments in Indian technology by US private sector companies in December and January. He clarified that such industrial ventures would involve direct engagement between investing companies, with the government playing a facilitative role in these investments, particularly in sectors like semiconductors and other industrial endeavors. Garcetti also mentioned expanding governmental conversations encompassing areas like space and defense production.
