The new guidelines will be announced in a day or two, officials told IANS. During the meeting on Thursday night, Gehlot directed the Home Department to make strict guidelines while keeping in mind that the livelihood of the needy people is not affected.

In a tweet on Thursday, Gehlot said, "After undergoing the Covid-19 test, I have been tested positive today. However, there are no symptoms and I am fine. As per the Covid protocols, I will continue to work under isolation."

The home department, late on Sunday night, issued new guidelines, and the lockdown period has been named as 'Public Discipline Fortnight'. All offices except those connected with essential services shall remain closed.

This would have prevented the confusion among the people and would have instilled confidence in them to go for vaccination in large numbers, Gehlot said.

Police said that two groups from different communities pelted stones on each other on Sunday and torched vehicles parked around after putting six shops afire. A few shops were also looted and police carried out a baton charge to disperse the crowd.
