Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday took stock of the physical progress of the statue of Borphukan. He held a meeting with the engineers of the construction agency and asked them to complete the construction by the end of 2024. Since the entire complex area has been demarcated, Sarma asked the Deputy Commissioner of Jorhat Pulak Mahanta to plant saplings around the boundary walls. 

AAP Assam in-charge Rajesh Sharma told IANS: “We are against the delimitation. But we will not join any alliance with the Congress. Our party believes that forging an alliance with either Congress or BJP is the same. As of now, we will be only part of forums to oppose the draft delimitation proposal.”

Sarma stated numerous times over the past few months that UCC is the need of the hour. "No Muslim woman in the country wants her husband to have three wives. You only need to ask a Muslim woman, nobody will suggest that her husband should marry three women," Sarma mentioned recently.

Sharing a video message on the occasion of Assam Rozgar Mela where nearly 45,000 youth were handed job letters for various state government departments, PM Modi asserted that the current development pace of the government has spread positivity and inspiration in the state.

Sarma wrote on Twitter, "The Sengol was integral to our Independence but the Left relegated it as a nondescript 'walking stick' in a museum corner despite Pt Nehru's crucial role." "Another instance of how an entire eco-system censored any event in history that glorified ancient Bharat & Hindu rituals," he further mentioned in the Twitter post.

Md Ashab Uddin, a Janata Dal MLA from Jiribam Assembly constituency in Manipur, said, "The situation is improving in the state. I have visited many areas. People who have taken refuge in Cachar district thought that the violence in Churachandpur district would spread to their areas also. But this did not happen.

The copy of the letter of Assam police referring the cases registered against Srinivas on Dutta's complaint mentioned, "It is revealed that there are reasonable grounds to question you (Srinivas B.V.) to ascertain facts and circumstances from you, in relation to the present investigation. Hence you are directed to appear at 11:00 AM on 02/05/2023 (Tuesday) at Dispur police station."

A case has been registered against Srinivas B.V. in Dispur police station under Sections 509, 294, 341, 352, 354, 354A, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with Section 67 of the Information Technology Act. According to sources, a four-member team of Assam Police has been sent to Karnataka to apprehend Srinivas.

"The way Assam Congress has handled this matter is sad. They ought to have established an inquiry committee and worked things out among themselves. I had believed that the Congress should be dealing with this internally," he told reporters in the national capital.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his Arunachal Pradesh counterpart Pema Khandu signed the agreement in presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi. After signing the deal, Shah said that they all have witnessed a historic moment in the northeast to resolve the border dispute between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, pending for decades.
