Now Facebook delays return to office till early next year

Earlier this month, Facebook had said that it would require its US employees to be vaccinated against Covid-19 when they return to the office. "Data, not dates, is what drives our approach for returning to the office. Given the recent health data showing rising Covid cases based on the Delta variant, our teams in the US will not be required to go back to the office until January 2022," a company spokesperson told The Verge on Thursday.
Zambia 'restricts' WhatsApp, Twitter on polling day

Several users from the country took to Twitter informing that WhatsApp has been restricted amid the ongoing general elections today. Internet monitoring firm Netblocks tweeted that Zambia has restricted access to various social messaging platforms. The Zambian government, however, denied the reports, calling them "malicious."

Google Pixel 6, 6 Pro to use Samsung GN1 50MP sensor: Report

The rumour was confirmed by a code in Google's new Camera app, which arrived with the Android 12 Beta 4, GSMArena reported on Thursday. According to the report, the code mentions 'p21', which refers to the upcoming Pixel 6 series, attached to a 'gn1_wide', which is very straightforward to decipher. The GN1 sensor, which Samsung unveiled last May, has 1.2µm-sized pixels before binning.
India sees 3.2 mn PCs shipped at over 50% growth in Q2

Google launches Android 12 beta 4 with new user-friendly tools

Android 12 introduces AppSearch, a high-performance on-device search engine, as a system service. The company said the investment will be focused on strengthening its leadership position as the fastest growing local language AI-driven content platform in the country. The multi-million-dollar investment follows a $200 million+ fund raise from Falcon Edge Capital via Alpha Wave Ventures, Glade Brook Capital Partners, Google, Microsoft and QIA in February this year, taking the total capital raise in the first half of 2021 to beyond $650 million.
