During his knock, Rohit hit three sixes, taking his total number of sixes for MI to 260. This has put him on the number one position of the most sixes for Mumbai Indians, breaking the previous record by West Indies' Kieron Pollard, who had 258 sixes.

Following are the top five six-hitters in MI history:

  • 260 sixes - Rohit Sharma (225 innings)
  • 258 sixes - Kieron Pollard (193 innings)
  • 127 sixes - Suryakumar Yadav (104 innings)
  • 115 sixes - Hardik Pandya (103 innings)
  • 106 sixes - Ishan Kishan (84 innings)

On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Daniel Vettori questioned his team's strategy after the defeat, admitting their powerplay plan completely failed. "I think pretty clearly, the toss was a big factor. We wanted to bowl first because the conditions were absolutely different from the earlier ones," Vettori explained. "We thought it was a 280, 250 wicket, but conditions changed greatly, and we could not determine the par score early enough."

He further mentioned, "When we came out, we tried to maximize the powerplay, but to our ill fortune, we lost wickets in quick succession. When we realized that the surface wasn't as expected, we were forced to switch gears to come up with a target of around 180, which was hard after reaching 24 for 4 in the post-powerplay."

SRH's aggressive strategy in the powerplay, which had yielded rewards throughout this season so far, failed to reap dividends on a seaming pitch. Deepak Chahar and Trent Boult exploited the conditions to the optimum with ruthless new-ball spells.

Vettori admitted that the team could not adapt, further stating, "We need to know better what a good score is and get it set up correctly. When Travis and Abhishek (Sharma) take it on, they're attacking, and it works, but when it doesn't, someone else has to do it. That hasn't always happened this season, and today, although we had a couple of partnerships, it was just a bit too late."
