India retaliates after the Pakistan Army fires small arms in various areas along the J&K Line of Control

The Pakistan Army has initiated small arms fire at various sectors along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, to which the Indian Army has responded effectively.

The situation has taken a serious turn between the two nations following the gruesome massacre of 26 civilians by Pakistan-supported terrorists.

While making his first public statement following the Pahalgam terror attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday assured that terrorists, their sponsors, and their sympathizers will be tracked down and punished wherever they might be.

A huge anti-terror operation has been ongoing for the fourth consecutive day in Baisaran meadow, Pahalgam, to arrest the terrorists involved in the murder of civilians.

The Army has claimed that a collaborative operation was begun with the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday in Basantgarh of Udhampur, as per credible information. The terrorists were faced by the security personnel, leading to intense firing. "One of our brave jawans sustained severe injuries in the initial exchange and succumbed to injuries despite utmost efforts at the medical front. Operations are underway," the message stated.

Another operation was conducted on Thursday in Kulgam district, where terrorists traded fire with security personnel.

Three operations are going on presently, along with the massive anti-terror operation in Pahalgam, intended to track down those responsible for the massacre of the Baisaran meadow.

The operation in Baisaran meadow is being conducted with the assistance of drones, helicopters, electronic scanning, and sniffing dogs. Security forces have been ordered specifically to identify and eliminate the terrorists who killed 26 civilians, 25 of whom were tourists and one a local resident.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the location to deliver a stern message to the perpetrators of the Baisaran meadow attack. After the Pahalgam terror attack, India has moved in strongly, including putting on hold the 1960 Indus Water Treaty between the two countries. The Attari border crossing has been closed, and Pakistani nationals have been requested to leave India within 48 hours. In addition, India has reduced its diplomatic staff in Pakistan by 30 percent, and the Pakistan High Commission's military attaché has been declared persona non grata.
