Even as an official release from Fancode announcing the suspension is pending, the site had already live-streamed the first 13 games of the current season prior to taking down all PSL streams.

The incident has provoked collective outrage and backlash in the sports world.

On Wednesday, India's Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) issued a strong condemnation of the attack, terming it "ghastly and cowardly." The long-standing freeze in bilateral cricket relations between India and Pakistan—based on past acts of terrorism—is still intact.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said, "The cricketing world is shocked and pained at the unfortunate loss of innocent lives in the horrific terror strike at Pahalgam yesterday.". In the name of the BCCI, condemning this horrific and cowardly act in the strongest possible terms, I offer our deepest condolences to the affected families and prayers for the souls departed. In mourning their agony and bereavement, we stand shoulder to shoulder at this moment of tragedy."

Among those several voices filled with sadness was Royal Challengers Bengaluru star Virat Kohli, who posted an emotional message on his Instagram Stories: "Deeply saddened by the heinous attack in Pahalgam on innocent people. Heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. Praying for peace and strength to families of all those who lost their lives and justice to be served for this cruel act."

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar also shared his sorrow on X (formerly Twitter): "Shocked and saddened by the senseless attacks on innocent souls in Pahalgam. The families who have been hit by this tragedy must be facing an unimaginable experience – India and the world stand with them in this darkest of hours, as we mourn the loss of lives and pray for justice."
