Axelsen, who clinched gold at Tokyo 2020 -- was challenged by Singapore's Loh Kean Yew as he extended the match to three games, but in the end, the Dane sealed a 21-12, 9-21, 21-13 victory in 59 minutes. The 27-year-old got off to a better start, cruising to a relatively easy win in the first game. However, the 24-year-old Loh fired back and won the second game.
World TT Championships: India finish campaign without any medal

In mixed doubles, Tokyo Olympians Manika Batra and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran lost 1-3 (5-11, 2-11, 11-7, 9-11) to Japan's Hina Hayata and Tomokazu Harimoto and crashed out in the quarter-finals on Saturday. They had earlier beaten China's Wang Manyu and US's Kanak Jha and the Puerto Rican team of Adriana Diaz and Brian Afanador en route to the quarters.

Just when India looked to finish the second session on a strong note, Iyer was removed by Tim Southee to leave the match interestingly poised with the hosts having a lead of 216. India had a great start to the second session as Iyer and Ravichandran Ashwin continued to collect boundaries, taking their partnership for the sixth wicket past fifty. Kyle Jamieson struck on the second ball of his first over, ending Ashwin's gritty stay at the crease with a back of a length delivery rolling to the stumps after ricocheting off his front pad.

After rounds of 70 and 66 on the first two days, the Spaniard produced a round of 70 (-2) to move to a total of 10-under-par at Los Naranjos Golf Club. Aditi had one birdie and one bogey on the front nine and a bogey on 10th. She birdied 15th and 17th for 71.

At lunch, India are 84/5 in 32 overs, leading by 133 runs with Ashwin (20 not out off 35 balls) and Iyer (18 not out off 51 balls) at the crease. Resuming from the overnight score of 14/1, India were expected to get quick runs but New Zealand bowlers had other plans. The tourists were initially loose but tightened things quickly.
Late goals give Barca win in Villarreal

The result was harsh on Villarreal who were pressing for a winning goal when a bad defensive error gifted Barca their second goal of the game late on Saturday night. Barca coach Xavi Hernandez again put faith in youth with Gavi, Nico Gonzalez and Abde in his starting 11 and his side started strongly with Abde, who played as a right wing-back, seeing Geronimo Rulli tip his header onto the bar.
