Two of the new trains from this "Triveni" plan are going to be introduced to operational service in Bihar as part of an on-going effort at infrastructural modernization.

Although the Vande Bharat Express trains are already operational in the state, the Amrit Bharat Express from Darbhanga to Anand Vihar Terminal through Ayodhya and Malda Town to Bengaluru was an earlier inclusion in the network.

The Prime Minister is set to flag off three new railway tracks for the country, the Supaul–Pipra, Khagaria–Alauli, and Hasanpur–Vithan tracks. Two new passenger trains will also begin operations on these routes, boosting regional connectivity.

One of the highlights of this initiative is the launch of the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail, along with a new Amrit Bharat Express between Saharsa and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus.

The Jaynagar–Patna Namo Bharat Rapid Rail features multiple advanced features, such as a passenger capacity of more than 2,000, and it is constructed under the 'Make in India' program. It has Kavach safety systems, CCTV, fire detection systems, and emergency talkback systems installed. Both ends of the train feature pilot cabs, reducing the requirement for engine reversal.

Apart from this, the rail also features modern vacuum toilets, amenities for physically handicapped passengers, automated doors, ergonomic seats, USB charging stations (Type A & C), and route map markers in the train coaches.

The fast rail takes a cue from metro rails within urban areas and has the potential to provide class world short-distance traveling experiences.

These launches, along with quicker project completion owing to the greater investment, shall upgrade Bihar's railway infrastructure extensively.

The Namo Bharat trains will provide commuters with a modern, comfortable, and affordable journey experience.

The non-AC sleeper train, which runs up to speeds of 130 km/h, provides comfort similar to that of top-class trains like Vande Bharat at affordable rates necessary for travelers with a budget.

The new Amrit Bharat Express uses push-pull technology, which enables quicker turnaround times by having locomotives at both ends of the train.

It will have sleeper and unreserved class coaches with such modern amenities like foldable table for snacks, mobile holders, bottle holders, radium flooring strips for nocturnal visibility, spring body suspension system for lesser bumps, electro-pneumatic flushing systems to save water, soap dispensers in every toilet, aerosol-based firefighting system, emergency talkback systems in all coaches, and fire detection systems. This is the initial time that these systems will be used in non-AC coaches, and the train will also provide real-time wheel and bearing monitoring.

Built at the Perambur Integral Coach Factory, Chennai, this train is part of the 'Make in India' program.

As an accompaniment to the new trains, Indian Railways is also adding two new passenger services: the Pipra–Saharsa route, connecting the newly laid Supaul–Pipra line, and the Samastipur–Saharsa service through Bithan and Alauli to the Khagaria–Alauli section.

The services will drastically enhance travel within north Bihar, especially the Mithila area, by offering greater connectivity to major economic centers and making local travel easier.

With this project, Indian Railways continues to strike a balance between affordability and modernization, ensuring long-distance travel becomes faster, safer, and more accessible to everyone.
