Gujarat Polls: Urban voter turnout 15% lower than in tribal & rural belt
Till 3 p.m., 48.48 % voters voted for 788 candidates in 89 constituencies in Saurashtra and Kutch and South Gujarat. The highest voting has been reported in Tapi district at 64.27%, Narmada 63.88% and Dangs 58.55%. In Saurashtra's Bhavnagar district it was 45.91 percent, Junagadh district 46.03 % and Surat 47.01% votes.

ED's response sought on Satyendar Jain's bail plea in money laundering case
Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma directed the ED to file its response within two weeks and the matter has been listed for December 20. On Tuesday, Satyendar Jain had moved to HC challenging a trial court's order denying him bail in the alleged money laundering case filed by the ED.
Gujarat polls phase-1: 34.48% voter turnout till 1 pm
The polling was brisk to moderate in different places with the tribal areas of Dang, Tapi and Narmada recording an enthusiastic response than in the urban areas or other districts. The highest voting was reported from Tapi district with 46.35 per cent followed by Dang district (46.22 per cent), Narmada (45.13 per cent). The lowest voting was reported from Porbandar (30 per cent), Jamnagar (30.54 per cent), Junagadh (32.96 per cent), Rajkot (32.88 per cent) and Surat 33.10 per cent.

The three-day ban will come to force from the time the campaigning ends until the completion of voting. When the votes will be counted on December 7, liquor sale will again be prohibited. "In view of the civic polls in Delhi, the State Election Commission has declared dry days from 5.30 p.m. of December 2 to December 4, 2022 up to 5,30 p.m.
Controversy erupts in Karnataka over decision to build colleges for Muslim girls
The government is however moving ahead with its decision and has allotted a Rs 2.50-crore grant, sources said, adding that that Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is all set to lay down the foundation stone for the colleges this month. The colleges are going to be built in the Malnad and north Karnataka regions initially, and will expand later, the sources added.
Gujarat polls phase-1: 4.92% voting till 9 am
The tribal belt was sowing an enthusiastic response to voting. Dangs recorded 7.76 per cent voting and 7.25 per cent was recorded in Tapi till 9 a.m. According to ECI data, lowest voting was recorded in Porbandar district at 3.92 per cent, Jamnagar has 4.42 per cent, Bharuch 4.57 per cent, Botad (4.62 per cent), and Bhavnagar (4.71 per cent).
Delhi liquor policy case: TRS leader Kavitha's name figures in ED's remand report
Kavitha, a member of Telangana Legislative Council and daughter of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has been named as one of the members of 'South Group'. According to the remand report, businessman Vijay Nair, who has already been arrested in the case, received kickbacks of Rs 100 crore on behalf of AAP leaders from a group, called 'South Group'.
