No rest after Gujarat elections: BJP gets ready for its 2024 big push

BJP National President J.P. Nadda has called a "massive" meeting of all national and state level office bearers of the party in the national capital on December 5 and 6 to discuss the strategy and preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as well as the 2023 assembly elections in several states.
Foiled Mamata's attempts to make 'understanding': Suvendu Adhikari

Referring to that meeting, Adhikari on Saturday said a call from the chief minister inviting him was intended at coming to an understanding with him, which he foiled by taking three fellow legislators along with him. "It was her plan to come to an understanding with me. But I had gauged her intentions in advance. So, I asked three of our fellow legislators to accompany me to the chief minister's room," Adhikari said while addressing a public rally at Diamond Harbour -- the Lok Sabha constituency of Trinamool Congress national general secretary, Abhishek Banerjee.
Campaigning ends for 2nd phase of Gujarat assembly polls

The first phase of the polling -- held on December 1, witnessed a low turnout of voters. Chief Electoral Officer P. Bharathi said that in 93 seats, there are 2,51,58,730 voters in 14,975 polling centres. Of then, 2,904 polling centres are in urban areas and 12,071 in rural areas. There are a total of 26,409 polling booths.
Polls and voting: Urban apathy continues unabated from Shimla to Surat

While voting percentage increased in many constituencies, the average voter turnout figure was dampened by urban apathy of these important districts just as during the recently concluded Himachal Pradesh assembly poll, the urban assembly constituency of Shimla recorded the lowest at 62.53 per cent (less by 13 percentage point) as against the State average of 75.6 per cent.
Delhi MCD polls: 40,000 security personnel to be deployed on polling day

According to Delhi Police, a total of 40,000 personnel will be deployed across the city on the polling day on December 4. "A total of 20,000 security personnel of Home Guards have also been asked from the neighbouring Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana for the election duty," said an official.
BJP slams Cong for abusing PM Modi

Addressing a press conference, Patra added, "The manner in which top leaders of the Congress party are repeatedly using language and abuses for PM Modi is being seen on TV every day. In such a situation, the Congress has established itself as a party of abusers. Congress leaders called Modi ji 'lowly', 'Yamraj' and what not. In this way, Congress leaders have completed 100 abuses. It reflects their thinking."

I have informed the authorities that I can meet them at my residence in Hyderabad on December 6 as per their request," Kavita said on Friday. Not aiming for any position, says Keshav Prasad Maurya

Maurya said this while responding to Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav who had said during a rally that he can provide an opportunity to the BJP leader to become the Chief Minister. During an interaction with IANS, Maurya said: "I am a Swayamsevak... and a Swayamsevak never aims for any position. Akhilesh Yadav has a greed for positions and that's why he is making such statements."
