Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Pankaj Agarwal announced the schedule of elections to the Haryana Legislative Assembly. There are about 2.03 crore voters in this state. Although nomination can be made up to September 12, scrutiny of the nominations would be conducted the next day. September 16 is the last date for withdrawal of candidature. Poll will be held on October 1, and counting of votes on October 4. The final voter list is expected to be published on August 27.
Agarwal suggested that youngsters attaining the age of 18 years by July 1 and whose names are not in the voter list may contact their BLO to enroll themselves. As per the revised electoral roll, the state will have 2,03,27,631 voters, including 1,08,19,021 male, 95,08,155 female and 455 third gender voters. Of them, 4,82,896 are between the age group of 18 to 19, 1,49,387 are persons with disability and 2,42,818 are above 85 years. Further, 9,554 voters are more than 100 years old and 20 to 29-year category comprises 41,52,806 voters.
There will be 20,629 polling booths across Haryana, out of which 7,132 are in urban areas and 13,497 are in rural areas. All these polling booths will be set up at 10,495 different locations. The state has a total of 90 Assembly constituencies out of which 17 constituencies are reserved. Candidates can spend a maximum of Rs 40 lakh for their campaigns and have to furnish details of a separate bank account to the District Election Officer for campaign expenses. They can also use Suvidha App for getting approvals on election-related activities like rallies and roadshows.
Voters may use the KYC App to get details of the candidates, while a special Saksham App is available to help the differently-abled voters.
