The long-awaited movie Coolie, starring megastar Rajinikanth, has come out with its first song, Chikitu — a vibrant and colorful dance tune that is already creating ripples on the net.

The song has been released in several languages, such as Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, with the aim of a pan-Indian appeal.

Coolie is defined as an octane action thriller and boasts a multi-star cast. Apart from Rajinikanth, the movie has best names from all over the South Indian film world — Telugu legend Nagarjuna, Kannada veteran Upendra, Malayalam star Soubin Shahir, and Tamil star Sathyaraj. Bollywood's Aamir Khan makes an appearance in a cameo role, while Rebe, Monica John, and Junior MGR will play crucial roles.

The movie brings Rajinikanth together with Sathyaraj after almost four decades — the two last acted together in the 1986 Tamil blockbuster Mr Bharath, in which Sathyaraj notoriously portrayed Rajinikanth's father.

In a curious twist, Sathyaraj had earlier rejected roles in some of Rajinikanth's earlier super-hits such as Sivaji and Enthiran, making this union all the more important.

Anirudh Ravichander directs the music in the background, and Girish Gangadharan handles cinematography. The editing is being headed by Philomin Raj.

Not for speculation, Coolie will not be included in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). Kalanithi Maran is producing the film under the banner of Sun Pictures, with a worldwide theatre release on August 14.
