'Deploy full spectrum of counter-terror capabilities': PM Modi after reviewing security situation in Jammu and Kashmir

The meeting was attended by most of the top security officials, including NSA Ajit Doval, who briefed the Prime Minister in detail on the prevailing situation in the Union Territory on the security front.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday instructed officials to implement a comprehensive range of counter-terrorism measures following a review meeting on the security status in Jammu and Kashmir. This meeting came in response to a series of terrorist attacks that occurred over the past four days.

The meeting was attended by most of the top security officials, including NSA Ajit Doval, who briefed the Prime Minister in detail on the prevailing situation in the Union Territory on the security front.

Prime Minister Modi was also told about counter-terror measures taken by the security forces and was briefed on Army's strategies and operations vis-a-vis neutralizing terrorist threats.

Emphasizing on the need for an effective response, PM Modi directed the officials to fully mobilize and exhaust all counter-terrorism capabilities on the ground.

Apart from the review meeting, PM Modi has also spoken to the Home Minister Amit Shah about the deployment and activities of the security forces which are part of counter-terror operations.

The Prime Minister has also spoken to Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to take stock of the situation on ground.
