RSS Chief Advocates 'One Temple, One Well, One Cremation Ground' for Hindu Unity

While he was in Aligarh for five days, Bhagwat spoke to 'swayamsevaks' at two different 'shakhas' in HB Inter College and Panchan Nagri Park. He stressed social harmony as the required basis for India to be able to play its international role as a harbinger of peace.

On Sunday, Mohan Bhagwat, the head of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), urged more social harmony among Hindus by encouraging the practice of "one temple, one well, and one cremation ground" for everyone. His appeal was to bridge the gap between castes and unite Hindus.

While he was in Aligarh for five days, Bhagwat spoke to 'swayamsevaks' at two different 'shakhas' in HB Inter College and Panchan Nagri Park. He stressed social harmony as the required basis for India to be able to play its international role as a harbinger of peace.

RSS sources added that Bhagwat also emphasized the importance of 'sanskar' (values) being the foundation of Hindu society, calling upon members to develop a society based on tradition, cultural values, and morality.

He also urged swayamsevaks to approach all segments of society, inviting them into their homes to promote solidarity and harmony at the grassroots level.

In his speech, Bhagwat emphasized the core role of the family as the pillar of society, observing that robust family values are derived from 'sanskar.' He also urged the celebration of festivals together as a means to reinforce nationalism and social cohesion.

Bhagwat's tour, which began on April 17, entails day-long interactions with RSS pracharaks of the Braj zone. The tour is part of the organization's preparations for its centenary celebrations, which will begin on Vijayadashami later this year.
