Major breakthrough at PP-15 in Gogra-Hotsprings as India-China disengagement completed

Patrolling Point (PP)-15's stand-off saw the ice broken. Both sides on Monday moved back their frontline troops to the rear from the face-off site of PP-15 in the Gogra-Hotsprings area in eastern Ladakh and dismantled temporary infrastructure there as part of a five-day disengagement process. Sources close to developments averred that full details of the disengagement and the verification process were being awaited from the ground Commanders.

The disengagement process began on September 8 after the two sides issued a joint statement following a consensus at the 16th round of the India-China Corps Commander-level meeting on July 17. After successful military talks between the two sides four days ago, Indian and Chinese troops decided to conclude their disengagement process from the Gogra-Hotsprings area at Patrolling Point 15 in eastern Ladakh on Monday.
Gyanvapi case: Varanasi court rules in favour of Hindu petitioners

District judge A.K. Vishvesha dismissed the petition filed by the Muslim side citing the Places of Worship Act and questioning the maintainability of the petition. Advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain, representing the Hindu side said, "The court rejected the Muslim side's petition and said the suit is maintainable. The next hearing in the matter will be on September 22."

Dr. Jaishankar underlined the importance of India-Saudi strategic relationship at a time when the world is at crossroads, he tweeted. In one of rare gestures for visiting high ranking foreign diplomats, Dr. Jaishankar addressed Saudi diplomats at the Prince Saud Al Faisal Institute of Diplomatic Studies in Riyadh on Sunday.The Indian minister was received by Dr. Adel Al Amrani, director of the institute and Saudi Ambassador to India Dr. Saud Al Sati and other senior officials.

India logs 5,221 fresh Covid cases, 15 deaths

During the same period, 15 more Covid-related fatalities took the death toll to 5,28,165 as per the report. Meanwhile, the active caseload has come down to 47,176 cases, accounting for 0.11 per cent of the total positive cases. The recovery of 5,975 patients in the last 24 hours took the cumulative tally to 4,39,25,239. Consequently, the recovery rate stands at 98.71 per cent.
PM Modi to visit Uzbekistan for SCO Summit

The SCO Summit will be attended by leaders of SCO member states, observer states, the SCO Secretary General, the Executive Director of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS), the President of Turkmenistan and other guests. During the Summit, the leaders are expected to review the organisation's activities over the past two decades and discuss the state and prospects of multilateral cooperation in the future. Meanwhile, the active caseload has come down to 47,945 cases, accounting for 0.11 per cent of the country's total positive cases. The recovery of 5,970 patients in the last 24 hours took the cumulative tally to 4,39,19,264. Consequently, India's recovery rate stands at 98.71 per cent.
Body of medical student killed in Armenia reaches MP's Rewa after 14 days

Dwivedi's family members received the body at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi at 2:30 am on Saturday following which it was taken to Rewa by an ambulance.As per reports, Dwivedi's body was found by the police in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, on August 28 from near a shop located in an area called DeWitt Beck Street.
