Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann deplaned in Frankfurt as he was 'too drunk to walk'

As per media reports, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who was on a trip to Germany from September 11-18, delayed his departure as he was reportedly in 'an inebriated state'. However, his party, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has strongly denied the rumours, saying Mann was not deplaned at the Frankfurt airport. The party termed it false and frivolous propaganda by political rivals.
Pakistani drone dropped weapon at border

According to sources in Border Security Force (BSF), one Pakistani drone was spotted near Pul Moran inside Indian territory near Amritsar at around 2.45 a.m. on Monday. A BSF's patrolling party swung into action and opened fire towards drone following which the drone dropped a bag hanging with it and returned to Pakistan.

Indian Army invites industry for emergency procurement of critical equipment

Proposals have been invited for guns, missiles, drones, counter-drone, loiter munition, communication and optical systems, as per a series of tweets from the Army's Additional Directorate General of Public Information. The Army has also invited the proposals for specialist vehicles, engineering equipment, and alternate energy resources. "In keeping with its commitment to fight the future wars with Indigenous Solutions, Indian Army invites Indian Defence Industry to offer critical defence equipment for Emergency Procurement," it announced.
Stir continues at Chandigarh University over 'leaked objectionable videos'

Following protests by the students on Saturday night, a female MBA student of the private university was arrested by the police on Sunday morning on charges of making an objectionable video. She has also been accused of filming her fellow hostellers and making the videos viral. As the matter drew angry political reactions, the university authorities clarified that "no videos were found of any student which are objectionable, except a personal video shot by a girl which she shared with her boyfriend".
India reports 5,664 fresh Covid cases, 35 deaths

In the same period, the country has recorded 35 more Covid related deaths, taking the national fatalities tally to 5,28,337 as per the report. Meanwhile, the active caseload of the country has marginally risen to 47,922 cases, accounting for 0.11 per cent of the country's total positive cases.

The J&K government, Indian Railways and Indian Railway Construction Limited have been working together on this project since August 2019. The inspection of the project will be done on September 26 and the project will be inaugurated on October 2. An official put the project cost at 324 crore, adding that the Budgam-Baramulla section is already complete while the Budgam-Banihal corridor will be inspected and inaugurated on September 26.

India reports 5,747 fresh Covid cases, 29 deaths

With the fresh fatalities, the death toll due to Covid rose to 5,28,302. Meanwhile, the active caseload has marginally risen to 46,848 cases, accounting for 0.11 per cent of the country's total positive cases. The recovery of 5,618 patients in the last 24 hours took the cumulative tally to 4,39,53,374. Consequently, the recovery rate stands at 98.71 per cent. Meanwhile, daily positivity rate stands at 1.69 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate at 1.74 per cent.
In a bid to reduce pendency, SC bins 13,147 old cases in one go

On Thursday, an order issued by Registrar Judicial-1 Chirag Bhanu Singh said: "These bunch of 13,147 unregistered but diarised cases have been registered prior to the year 2014, to be precise before August 19, 2014. These cases had been filed more than 8 years ago. As per the practice then in vogue, the matters had been returned to the Ld. counsel/petitioner-in-person for rectifying the defects noticed in the matters respectively. They have never been rectified ever. The petitions had added to the pendency at the apex court."
