On Wednesday, the Indian Navy celebrated a significant milestone with the commissioning of 'Seahawks,' its premier MH 60R helicopter squadron.
Admiral R. Hari Kumar, Navy Chief, hailed the MH 60R helicopter as a pinnacle of multi-role capability globally, emphasizing its pivotal role in bolstering the nation's maritime prowess and safeguarding national interests.
Expressing the Indian Navy's unwavering dedication to safeguarding maritime interests, Admiral Kumar underscored the MH 60R's cutting-edge sensors and versatile mission capabilities, foreseeing a substantial enhancement in maritime surveillance and anti-submarine warfare capabilities.
Commending the officers and personnel of 'Seahawks' for their swift integration with the fleet, Admiral Kumar urged the crews of INAS 334 to uphold excellence and readiness in fulfilling their mission of ensuring the safety, security, and stability of the nation's waters.
The commissioning ceremony marked the official introduction of these adaptable helicopters into service, under the command of Captain M. Abhisheik Ram. Beginning with a solemn invocation and the reading of the Squadron's Commissioning Warrant by the Commanding Officer, the event culminated in the unveiling of the Commissioning Plaque by the Navy chief.
