BMW Crash in Mumbai: Mihir Shah Confesses to Driving, Remanded in Custody Until July 16

Mihir R. Shah, the prime suspect in the BMW crash case and son of former Shiv Sena Deputy Leader Rajesh Shah, confessed on Wednesday to driving the vehicle that collided with a two-wheeler, resulting in the death of fisherwoman Kaveri P. Nakhwa on July 7.

Mihir, 24, who had been on the run for nearly 60 hours following the accident, was apprehended and brought before a Sewri court by Worli police. After a brief hearing, he was remanded to police custody for a week, until the following Tuesday.

Earlier that day, Mihir's father, Rajesh Shah, who was suddenly removed from his Shiv Sena position, was arrested and placed in judicial custody for 15 days on Monday. He was subsequently released on bail.

In addition, the family's driver, Rajrishi Bidawat, was taken into police custody until Thursday, July 11. This high-profile case has sparked a political uproar, with the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi criticizing the ruling MahaYuti government.
