Ban Anyone Who Disturbs Our Peace, Says Suniel Shetty on Pakistani Artists Debate

Issuing a statement of his personal opinion, Shetty said that it's necessary for citizens to come together and not let efforts at spreading hatred following such incidents. "Anything should be banned with anyone who tries to disrupt our peace and kills innocent people. Anything and everything should be banned. Cricket, cinema, anything. First correct what is wrong and then everything will become alright once again… We come from a place where we utter dharma, karma and seva," he told PTI.

Following the horrific terror attack in Pahalgam that took 26 lives, actor Suniel Shetty has spoken in support of the Pakistani artiste ban, reiterating the fact that cricket and art cannot coexist with hate forces attacking India's security and peace.

The remarks are in the face of growing anger over the release of the forthcoming film Abir Gulaal, which features Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. The film was originally scheduled to be released on May 9. But following the April 22 attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam district, Indian authorities purportedly decided that the film would not be permitted to release in the country.

Shetty emphasized that the government and the military are best equipped to handle the situation, and added further, "The honourable Prime Minister has entrusted the Army with the task of making the decision and I believe the men in uniform will do what they have to do. We remain one, we remain united and don't let anyone spread hatred. That's all we need to do as responsible citizens."
