JNU to revert back to its own entrance exam from next year for admission to PhD programs

The students and teachers have been demanding that the university should resume its responsibility of organizing the entrance exam. “We will go back to Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Entrance Exam for PhD admission as the majority opinion is that for the PhD critical analysis is important and the MCQ (Multiple Choice Question) doesn’t allow that," the Vice Chancellor told media persons.
DU executive council passes resolution to adopt CUET PG for postgraduate admissions

Academic Council of the university last month passed a proposal to change the admission pattern for postgraduate programmes. Under the existing system, 50 per cent of admissions are done directly from the candidates who did their bachelor’s degree from the university based on merit in their qualifying exams.
US universities add policies banning caste discrimination

Brown University announced this month that it was explicitly adding caste to categories like religion, sexual orientation and colour in its institution-wide non-discrimination policy. The University's Vice President for Institutional Equity and Diversity, Sylvia Carey-Butler, asserted that as the South Asian population in the US increases, caste discrimination is a growing issue on college and university campuses.

According to the Telegraph, commissions are paid to agents who market "graduate visas" and help potential Indian students get visas for their spouses and children. A graduate visa, previously known as the post-study visa, gives one permission to stay in the UK for at least two years after successfully completing a course in the country.

CAT 2022: Provisional answer key released; here's how candidate can raise objections and other details

According to the official notification, the last date for the applicants to raise their objections against the released answer key is 4 December 2022. According to the experts rating, Slot 3 (evening session) was slightly tough as compare to slot 1 and 2. The Quantitative Ability section has been rated more difficult in comparison to the last 2 years, whereas VARC (Verbal and Reading Comprehension) was rated easy to moderate.

Dr Ana Baburamani, Neelima Kadiyala and Dr Indrani Mukherjee will undertake a two-year program in 2023 and 2024 to step into the media spotlight as STEM experts. According to the schedule, Candidates will have the time to apply for admission between December 1 and 3. The last date to pay the admission fee and secure admission is December 4, till 11:59 pm. Subsequently, the university will release the second merit list on December 7 and admissions will be from December 8 to 9. The third merit list for PG admissions will be out on December 12  and the admission process will conclude on December 15.

According to media reports, Sunak is considering curbs on foreign students taking "low quality" degrees and bringing dependents. The UK Prime Minister's spokesman said the idea was being considered after official figures showed net migration to the UK had climbed to a record half a million, the reports said.

Candidates can accept the allocated seats till 4:59 pm of November 25. For this, they have to verify and have their applications approved from 10 am of November 24 till 4:59 pm of November 26. The last date to pay fees is November 27 till 4:59 pm. The university, on Sunday, November 20, released the list of vacant seats for the first spot allocation round of the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS).
