Education Minister Ensures Accountability with NEET Panel Formation

The Minister has stated that the Government is committed to holding error-free examinations and is worried about the future of the students in a press meet.

Facing criticism from various quarters following the NEET examination paper leak, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced that a high-level committee would be constituted to probe the irregularities and stated that those responsible have to be punished.

"I want to assure everybody, once we get concrete evidence, none of the guilty will be spared. Our priority is the future of students," he said.

Pradhan also announced that a high-powered committee would be set up for revamping the working of the National Testing Agency. "The committee will give recommendations on improving the NTA's structure, its functioning, examination process, transparency and data, and security protocol," he said.

He termed the leakage of the NEET paper in Bihar an "isolated" incident and underlined that the future of lakhs of students should not be compromised. He appealed against rumour-mongering and politicization over it.

He said the ministry would continue coordination with Bihar Police regarding the leakage of NEET-UG paper. Recently, four persons, including a mastermind were arrested in Bihar involved in the job. They confessed to having obtained the question paper one day prior to the conduction of the examination and they paid handsomely for the same.
