NEET PG 2025 to be conducted in one session

Earlier, the Supreme Court had instructed the National Board of Examinations to conduct the NEET PG 2025 examination in one shift rather than the initially scheduled two shifts. The examination was originally scheduled to take place on June 15, 2025. The Court also allowed NBEMS to ask for a relaxation to conduct the examination, as per Live Law.

On June 3, NBEMS sought an extension, stating that it has to raise the number of seats in the examination from 450 to 900 and make proper security arrangements. The examination agency cited its technology partner, Tata Consultancy Services, saying that August 3 is the latest possible date to hold the NEET PG test.

NBEMS clarified that the test was originally scheduled to take place at 450 centers for more than 2.5 lakh candidates. But after the Supreme Court directive to administer the test in one shift, additional centers have to be increased. Therefore, additional time is required to decide and arrange the additional centers before they are intimated to the candidates.

It also added, "The infrastructure had to be activated to carry out a transfer of 242,679 candidates with buffer would involve infrastructure for 2.70 lakh to be made available throughout the country, which will take a substantial period of time."
