Arizona State University (ASU) in the United States has entered into a groundbreaking partnership with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT into its classrooms. This collaboration makes ASU the first higher education institution to join forces with OpenAI, the AI research and deployment company behind ChatGPT. Commencing in February, ASU will open submissions from faculty and staff to explore inventive applications of ChatGPT Enterprise.
The partnership will focus on three key areas: enhancing student success, fostering innovative research opportunities, and optimizing organizational processes.
Lev Gonick, ASU Chief Information Officer, highlighted the potential of advanced AI capabilities in leveling the playing field, enabling individuals and organizations, regardless of size or resources, to harness AI for creative and innovative endeavors.
ASU President Michael M. Crow emphasized the university's commitment to responsible AI evolution, stating, "Our collaboration with OpenAI reflects our philosophy and our commitment to participating directly in the responsible evolution of AI learning technologies."
