Hero Lectro rolls out new sales strategy for its cargo e-bike

Hero Lectro recently announced the launch of its first purpose-built cargo vehicle Hero Lectro WINN, an E-Cycle designed specially to address the evolving needs of last-mile-e-commerce delivery in India. The first of its kind cargo vehicle to hit the Indian market will soon be supplemented by a three-wheeled cargo vehicle.
Two-wheeler cos extend warranty, free servicing period

"This extension will be applicable for all Honda 2Wheeler India's customers, whose vehicle's free service, warranty and extended warranty was originally ending between 1st April 2021 and 31st May 2021," the company said in a statement. Hero MotoCorp has also extended the duration of all its warranty and free services.
Tesla applies brakes on Bitcoin for vehicle purchases

Musk said that the electric car maker will not sell any bitcoin and intends to use bitcoin for transactions as soon as mining moves to more sustainable energy. "We are also looking at other cryptocurrencies that use <1 percent of bitcoin's energy/transaction," Musk said in a tweet.
Tesla Supercharger network reaches 25K-milestone

At the end of 2020, Tesla had over 20,000 charging stalls at over 2,100 Supercharging stations around the world. Now just a few months later, Tesla announced that the automaker has now 25,000 Superchargers around the world, Electrek reported. Those 25,000 Supercharger stalls are at just over 2,700 Supercharger stations. Tesla launched a new Twitter account called 'Tesla Charging' that shares every new charging station coming online.
Tesla admits Musk's 'full self-driving' claim not feasible yet

Tesla vehicles are far from reaching a level of autonomy often described by Musk on social media, according to an internal memo obtained by transparency portal Plainsite. Toyota acquires Lyft's autonomous car division for $550M

Hyundai Motor to phase out Kona EVs in domestic market

The Kona EV is Hyundai's bestselling EV model launched in April 2018, but the compact SUV's image has been tainted by a series of battery fires, which prompted the automaker to recall over 75,680 units in February jointly with battery maker LG Energy Solution Ltd. Hyundai will only sell Kona EVs in stock for the domestic market while continuing to export them to overseas markets, company officials said.

Hyundai to again suspend key plant over chip shortage

Hyundai will halt the operation of the Asan plant, 100 km south of Seoul, which produces the Grandeur and Sonata sedans, on Monday and Tuesday, a company spokesman said over the phone. Hyundai has seven domestic plants -- five in Ulsan, one in Asan and one in Jeonju -- and 10 overseas plants -- four in China and one each in the US, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Russia, India and Brazil. Their combined capacity reaches 5.5 million vehicles.
