Kia launches 1st all-electric EV sedan, starts from $40K

The EV6 is Kia's first model embedded with Hyundai Motor Group's own EV-only electric-global modular platform (E-GMP). Kia has received over 30,000 preorders for the EV6 in the domestic market, and a combined 8,800 preorders in Europe and the United States, the company said. The maker of the K5 sedan and the Sorento SUV aim to sell 13,000 units of the zero-emission model on its home turf.
Hybrid cars more vulnerable to chip shortage than conventional ones

The results, published in the journal Environmental Science & Technology, showed that self-charging hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles have twice the raw material cost risks, which equates to an increase of $1 billion for a fleet of a million sedans and SUVs, compared to conventional models.The largest contributors to the increase in cost risks were battery-related elements.

Tesla will open its Superchargers to other EVs this year: Musk

According to Musk, Tesla has created its own connector, as there was no standard back then and Tesla was the only maker of long-range electric cars. "It's one fairly slim connector for both low and high power charging," Musk wrote on Twitter. "That said, we're making our Supercharger network open to other EVs later this year," he added. As of May, Tesla's Supercharger network has reached a total of 25,000 chargers.
