The establishment of foreign university campuses in India is expected to significantly reduce tuition fees and offer merit-based scholarships to students facing financial challenges.

The NIRF Rankings can be accessed on the official website of NIRF – nirfindia.org. Maintaining its previous year's position, IIT Madras remains at number 1, while IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay hold the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. This year, IIT Kharagpur has lost its 5th position to IIT Roorkee and slipped down to 6th place.

The Education Ministry of India released the NIRF Rankings 2023 on Monday. IISc Bengaluru has maintained its top position in the research institutions’ rankings for the third consecutive year. Meanwhile, IIT Madras holds 2nd place in this ranking list. Both IISc Bengaluru and IIT Madras also feature in the top 2 positions in the overall educational institution rankings.

According to the College category of NIRF Rankings 2023, Delhi University's Miranda House maintained 1st place, while Hindu College again secured 2nd place. Loyola College lost its 4th position from the previous year to PSGR Krishnammal College for Women and slipped to the 7th position in the college rankings.

In the university category of NIRF Rankings, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru maintained its 1st place, while Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) once again secured 2nd place. Both IISc Bengaluru and JNU also maintained their positions in the top 10 overall rankings of educational institutes in India.

NIRF has announced rankings in 13 categories, including overall, universities, colleges, research institutions, engineering, management, pharmacy, medical, dental, law, architecture and planning, and innovation. According to the list, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras has secured the first position in the overall ranking of educational institutes in India.

This portal is open to both Indian and international students of the university. According to the cautionary notice issued by the Indira Gandhi National Open University, “In case the online payment made by the students does not get updated, they should not make the second payment immediately. They should wait for a day, check the payment status, and then decide.”
