In a letter to the states and UTs, Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said: "With a resurgence observed in Covid-19 cases across Southeast Asia and some countries of Europe, a high-level meeting was chaired by Health Minister on March 16, 2022 wherein it was advised that states and UTs should focus on aggressive and sustained genome sequencing and intensified surveillance and keep an overall vigil on the Covid-19 situation".
'The Kashmir Files' director Vivek Agnihotri to get 'Y' category CRPF security

According to the sources, the MHA's decision came after the security threat assessment of Agnihotri by Intelligence and other security agencies. Under the 'Y' category, Agnihotri will get eight CRPF personnel, including one or two commandos, besides police personnel. Agnihotri's film 'The Kashmir Files' is based on the exodus of the Kashmiri Pandits from Jammu and Kashmir after the militancy's rise in the valley.
No patient in Delhi's dedicated Covid hospital for first time since March 2020

Amit Shah on 2-day visit to J&K from today

At 36.1, Delhi's max temp crosses 35 degree Celsius threshold

Safdarjung Observatory recorded maximum temperature at 36.1 degrees Celsius, five notches above normal, while minimum temperature was recorded at 19.9 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal, India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. Palam Observatory recorded maximum temperature of 35.3 degrees Celsius while minimum was 21.5 degrees Celsius; Lodhi Road (35.7 & 19.0), Ridge (35.6 & 20.0).

As India began inoculation for children aged between 12 to 14 years on Wednesday, over 2.6 lakh of this age group vaccinated with first dose of Covid vaccine on the first day. The Covid-19 vaccination for this age group began as the country observed National Vaccination Day. Meanwhile, more than 2.15 crore precaution doses for the identified categories of beneficiaries - healthcare workers, frontline workers and over 60 years - have been administered so far.
CBI arrests Jamia Millia Islamia professor in bribery case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday arrested Mohammed Khalid Moin, a professor at Jamia Millia Islamia University, in a bribery case and seized Rs 30 lakh in cash from his house. Two others were also arrested in connection with the case. The agency has also detected suspicious Rs 1,19,78,493 in his bank accounts. Moin is posted at Department of Civil Engineering in the university while the two others, identified as Prakhar Pawar and Abid Khan, are employees of Vyom Architect.
