U.S. President Donald Trump has asked for an unprecedented increase in immigration enforcement, instructing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers to conduct the biggest mass deportation operation in the country's history.
The order comes after a series of protests in major urban areas, such as Los Angeles, where protesters opposed the administration's immigration policy.
Writing on his platform Truth Social, Trump complimented the federal immigration officers for their toughness in the midst of what he called increasingly hostile resistance from political adversaries.
"America's ICE Officers have demonstrated phenomenal resilience, resolve, and guts as they enable a very critical mission, the biggest mass deportation effort in history of illegal aliens. Daily, the courageous men and women of ICE are assaulted, harassed, and even threatened by left-wing Democrat politicians, yet nothing will deter us from carrying out our mission and enacting our mandate to the American People," Trump penned.
He then directed a directive in which he said, "ICE Officers are herewith directed, by notice of this Truth, to do all in their power to attain the very significant objective of bringing about the single largest mass deportation program in history."
Trump has called for building up enforcement in major urban centers like New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles—places he says are havens for illegal immigrants.
"These, and other similar Cities, are the hub of the Democrat power base, where they use Illegal Aliens to grow their Voter Base, rig elections, and increase the welfare state, stealing good paying jobs and benefits from honest American citizens. These Radical Left Democrats are sick of mind, detest our country, and actually want to destroy our Inner Cities -- And they are doing a good job of it! There is something wrong with them," he added.
The President directed more criticism at Democratic leaders for promoting open-borders policies and advocating progressive agendas such as gender and athletic inclusion.
He emphasized that law enforcement officers, ICE, and Border Patrol need to focus their attention on what he referred to as "crime-infested" neighborhoods, particularly those in so-called sanctuary cities.
Trump justified the broad immigration effort by arguing it would bring back public security and normalcy to U.S. communities.
"That's why I have instructed my entire presidency to commit all available resources to this endeavor and turn back the tide of Mass Destruction Migration that has transformed formerly Idyllic Towns into vistas of Third World Dystopia. Our Federal Government will remain committed to the remigration of Aliens back to the locations from whence they arrived and denying admission to anyone who destabilizes the domestic tranquility of the United States," he said.
The President ended his message with a word of encouragement to federal agencies engaged in enforcement activities.
"To ICE, FBI, DEA, ATF, the Patriots at Pentagon and the State Department, you have my complete support. Now go, get the job done!" Trump asserted.
