The Hamptons fundraiser-like affair boasted a strong roster of political and social heavy-hitters. Former President Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi were part of the political elite present. Vice President Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff also attended. The party is said to have attracted fleets of black SUVs, private aircraft, and a significant gathering of aides from the Clinton era—representing a sign of a seldom-seen concentration of power and influence.

Style icon Anna Wintour, socialite Nicky Hilton Rothschild, and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama were also guests, The Times reported.

"I'm excited about being a part of being a witness to their wedding; to the celebration that we are all going to be witnesses to; to seeing so many old friends come together in one setting to really enjoy being part of Huma and Alex's beginning of their marital life. And I think we can all use some fun, so I'm excited about all of it," Hillary Clinton said to Vogue in an article published Saturday.

At 39, Alex Soros is chairman of the Open Society Foundations—a $25 billion nonprofit established by his father, George Soros, 94—that is best known for backing progressive political candidates and causes throughout the United States. Abedin, 48, was once married to former Democratic congressman Anthony Weiner and has long been referred to as one of Hillary Clinton's closest friends, even as far back as being called the former Secretary of State's "second daughter."

The ceremony included a live performance by legendary R&B group Boyz II Men, who are famous for their 1991 song "Motownphilly," and moving toasts by Hillary Clinton, Anna Wintour, and Prime Minister Rama. Vogue reported that Abedin sported two specially made wedding gowns for the occasion. Guests were treated to an elegant menu of Wagyu beef, prawns grilled, and chilled English pea soup.

Soros asked Abedin to marry him in July last year and shared the experience on Instagram with the following post: "This happened…we couldn't be happier, more grateful, or more in love," along with a picture of him getting down on one knee.

Looking back on the romance, Abedin explained to Vogue: "I was surprised, not that he asked me to marry him, but it was the timing that didn't make any sense. It was a very busy, very chaotic day, and I had a trip the following day. I got my hair colored in the morning [and] I spilled something on my foot, so I was in sneakers."

Fox News Digital reached out to the Open Society Foundations for any further comments from the couple, but as of Sunday morning, had not received a response.
