When asked about the matter, Chaudhry confirmed, "I can confirm that no direct communication has occurred between the national security advisers of Pakistan and India." To a reporter's mention of Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar's statement that contact had occurred, Chaudhry replied that it was not correct. Chaudhry clarified that any indirect communication would fall under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is better placed to comment on matters of diplomacy.

These remarks came after heightened military operations between the two countries, following India's recent raid on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) under 'Operation Sindoor.' The raid, which took place early on Wednesday, was a forceful reaction to the Pahalgam massacre on April 22, when 26 people, most of whom were tourists, were murdered.

Chaudhri further alleged, with no proof given, that 77 Israeli drones, which were allegedly sent by India, have been neutralized by Pakistan. He further stated that Pakistan also has the authority to respond "at a time, place and means of our choosing." Pakistan once again fired drones targeting 26 locations across Jammu and Kashmir and Gujarat on Friday. India's defense officials indicated these efforts to target military facilities were successfully rebuffed.
