J.D. Vance delivered an acceptance speech after winning the Republican party vice presidential nomination on Tuesday, in which he lauded South Asian people and their values, many of which his wife Usha Vance comes from India. "I am married to the daughter of South Asian immigrants to this country, incredible people who have enriched this nation in numerous ways," Vance said in the speech, delivered Wednesday evening. In the process, he tackled one of the most divisive issues of the day: immigration, still a core tenet of former President Donald Trump's platform for re-election, and Trump's opposition to illegal migrants.
