Russia on Wednesday asserted that no sanctions can disrupt its special and strategic partnership with India. The statement assumes significance as it comes a day after the United States (US) threatned india with possible sanctions over S-400 missile deal.
Talking to The Economic Times, Russian deputy chief of mission Roman Babushkin said that the partnership between the two countries is complementary and important for security.
He also added that a large Russian delegation of over 100 participants is attending Aero India 2021 in Bengaluru to take the relation between the two countries to a new level.

“It is in the interest of both nations to go ahead. Our partnership is complementary and important for ensuring security. No sanctions will disrupt our special and strategic partnership,” Russian deputy chief of mission Roman Babushkin told Economic Times.
The statement comes a day after the US tried to persuade India to refrain from any military transactions with Russia. The US also pointed out that there is no provision for any kind of waiver under CAATSA (Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act).

The first deliveries of the S-400 air defense system can take place at the end of this year around October, and to operates the system, an Indian Military team is already undergoing training sessions.
The Russian deputy chief of mission also said that the unparalleled defence cooperation is based on ever-growing extraordinary mutual interest, coherence, consistency, complementarianism, and continuity, adding that both the countries would soon go ahead with a military logistics sharing pact.
