Since the outbreak of the Gaza conflict in October 2023, Hezbollah, based in Lebanon, has executed a total of 692 attacks against Israel. The Iran-backed group revealed in a statement that their targets included 48 Israeli border sites, 12 rear sites, and 50 new military points. This surge in hostilities was triggered by the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack on Israel, according to the Xinhua news agency.
Tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border escalated immediately after the Hamas attack, leading to Israel's response with heavy artillery directed towards southeastern Lebanon. On a subsequent Friday, confrontations persisted, resulting in an incident where Israeli forces from the Motella settlement fired upon a Lebanese civilian, causing serious injuries, as reported by a Lebanese military source to Xinhua. The wounded individual was subsequently transported to the Marjeyoun Governmental Hospital in southern Lebanon.
Simultaneously, Hezbollah claimed that its fighters targeted gatherings of Israeli soldiers near the Hadab Al-Bustan site. The ongoing conflicts between Hezbollah and Israel have, to date, claimed the lives of 217 individuals on the Lebanese side, including 158 militants and 37 civilians.
