Global Leaders Condemn Pahalgam Terror Attack, Express Solidarity with India

The global community strongly condemned the macabre terror attack that was carried out in the scenic Pahalgam hill resort located in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district on Tuesday.

World leaders and countries have come forward with their sympathies and have made unconditional offers of support to India as it continues to fight terrorism.

Trump Shows Support for India on Truth Social

Former U.S. President Donald Trump, commenting on the incident on his Truth Social platform, expressed his condolences and strong support. "Deeply disturbing news out of Kashmir. The United States stands strong with India against Terrorism. We pray for the souls of those lost, and for the recovery of the injured. Prime Minister Modi, and the incredible people of India, have our full support and deepest sympathies. Our hearts are with you all!" he posted.

Putin Calls for Justice, Reiterates Anti-Terror Pledge

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in letters to Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, condemned the attack and offered deepest condolences. "This inhuman crime has no grounds whatsoever. We expect that its organisers and perpetrators will receive a just punishment," he stated. Putin again reiterated Russia's commitment to strengthening counter-terrorism ties with India.

Following the similar sentiment, Russian Envoy in India Denis Alipov responded on X by saying, "Deepest condolences to people and the Gov of India regarding the cowardly terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam. Russia steadfastly stands together with India."

UAE Refers to Attack as "Criminal Act," Emphasizes Repulsion of Terrorism

The United Arab Emirates was among those condemning the attack, calling it a "criminal act" that flagrantly defies international norms. In its statement issued by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs late Tuesday evening, the UAE reaffirmed its "strong condemnation of these criminal acts and its permanent rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism meant to undermine security and stability."

The ministry also expressed its condolences to the government of India, its citizens, and the families of those who lost their lives in the tragedy, wishing a speedy recovery for the victims.

Iranian Embassy Condemns the Assault, Sends Condolences

The Iranian Embassy in New Delhi released a statement through X, condemning the brutality in Pahalgam in strongest words possible and expressing regret over the sacrifice of innocent lives. "We offer our deepest sympathies to the people and government of India, particularly to the families of the victims of this attack, and wish good health and speedy recovery to the wounded," the post read, tagging India's External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and the Ministry of External Affairs.
