Russia hits back with export bans

Russia has hit back at western sanctions for invading Ukraine by imposing export bans on a string of products until the end of 2022, BBC reported. The ban covers exports of telecom, medical, vehicle, agricultural and electrical equipment, as well as some forestry products such as timber. The economy ministry said further measures could include restricting foreign ships from Russian ports.
Russia says maternity hospital has been under control of Ukrainian paramilitary group

The building had been used as a base by the far-right Azov Battalion of the Ukrainian National Guard, the top Russian diplomat claimed on Thursday, during a press conference in Turkey, RT reported. The hospital in question has been for days under the control of a Ukrainian paramilitary group and Moscow presented evidence of this to the UN Security Council several days ago, Lavrov said.
Moscow's forces move within a few miles of Kiev outskirts

Kremlin troops launched two attacks on Kiev on Wednesday - one via the besieged western city of Irpin and another through the eastern district of Brovary, with video showing how a column of Russian tanks was bombarded with artillery in a devastating ambush and forced to turn back. Russia's Defence Ministry has claimed that experiments were carried out with samples of coronavirus from bats in biological laboratories in Ukraine. Konashenkov said the Ministry would soon publish another package of documents on secret military biological activities of the US in Ukrainian territory and present the results of their examination.
Situation at Chernobyl nuke plant dangerous: Ukraine

Ukraine's Presidential Office on Thursday warned that the situation at Chernobyl was "very dangerous" after an emergency power outage was reported at the now-defunct nuclear power plant. The adviser warned that since "these elements have been cut off from stable access to power", it posed a "threat to the whole of Europe. And, of course, to Russia itself". According to the presidential advisor, Russia is targeting the nuclear plants in Ukraine to "subdue its neighbours".
Russian troops lose combat capacity in some areas: Ukraine

The Ukrainian Defence Ministry on Thursday claimed that Russian troops have lost combat capacity in some areas in the country as Moscow's military assault on Kiev entered the 15th day. In its latest update posted on Facebook, the Ministry said Ukrainian forces continue to restrain Russian attacks in the eastern regions of Donetsk, Slobozhansky and part of the Tavrij operating districts.

Ukraine reports emergency power outage at Chernobyl plant

Ukrenergo, the state energy company of Ukraine, claimed that there was an emergency power outage at the now-defunct Chernobyl nuclear power plant, which fell to Russian troops on the first day of Moscow's war on Kiev. Due to the outage on Wednesday, on site emergency diesel generators were turned on to provide power systems important for safety, the company said in a Facebook post.
Russia not abandoning plans to surround Kiev: Ukraine

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Thursday that Russia is not abandoning its plans to surround Kiev as Moscow's military invasion continued for the 15th day. In its latest update on Facebook, the military said that Ukrainian forces are repelling and holding back Moscow's offensive operation in all directions despite attempts by Russian troops to advance towards the capital city.
