Cattle smuggling case: ED arrests Trinamool leader Anubrata Mondal
An ED source said it would soon initiate the legal process for taking Mondal to Delhi and question him at the agency's headquarters in the national capital. The Central Bureau of Investigation which is conducting a parallel probe in the case, had first arrested Mondal on August 11 this year. Since then, he had been in judicial custody at the Asansol Special Correctional Home.

WBSSC scam: Manik Bhattacharya remanded to 14-day ED custody
Former president of West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE), Manik Bhattacharya will now be presented at the same court on October 25. After arrest, ED officials took him to ESI Hospital at Joka on southern outskirts of Kolkata for medical check-up and from there he was presented at a lower court in Kolkata.

WBSSC Scam: Company with Arpita as director used to channelise funds, claims ED
ED counsel Phiroze Edulji said the name of the company is Symbiosis Merchants Private Limited. While Arpita Mukherjee is one of the two directors in the company, the other director is her sister's husband, Kalyan Dhar. Edulji informed the court that initially the company's share price was Rs 10 apiece, which skyrocketed to Rs 1,000 per share within a very short span of time. According to Edulji, these are clear indications that the share price of the company was inflated artificially by channelising the proceeds of the WBSSC scam which amounted to around RS 2.70 crore.
CBI raids residences of Anubrata Mondal's CA, close associates
At around 10 a.m. after a marathon questioning for around two hours, the CBI sleuths also detained Bishwajyoti Bandopadhyay, the councillor of Ward Number 19 of Bolpur Municipality. The CBI also raided the residences of Manish Kothari, Mondal's personal chartered accountant, and Sudip Roy, the Bolpur-based local businessman.
Bengal coal smuggling case: ED summons Abhishek Banerjee on Sep 2
Abhishek Banerjee, the nephew of the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, has been asked to be present at the ED's office at the Central Government Office (CGO) at Kolkata's Salt Lake area. The sources said that a special team of ED officers from the agency's headquarters in New Delhi will be arriving to Kolkata for Abhishek Banerjee's interrogation.
