Party insiders said that on Tuesday evening, the state Legislative party convened a meeting to update the MLAs about the dos and don'ts when the session is on. In the meeting, which was chaired by the state president Subrata Bakshi, party veterans stressed on the regular attendance of the MLAs during Assembly sessions, and to attend the meetings of the different standing committees.

Akhil Giri, MoS in-charge of Correctional Services Department, had triggered a massive row last week when he said at a rally in Nandigram, "We don't judge anyone by their appearance... We respect the office of the President. But how does our President look?"

Ever since the Rashtrapati Bhavan announced Ananda Bose as the new governor on Thursday evening, the Trinamool Congress has maintained a brooding silence over the name, but expressed dissatisfaction at the chief minister not being consulted. Reacting to the development, veteran Trinamool Congress leader and three-time party Lok Sabha member Saugata Roy said it's difficult to understand the basis on which the Centre finalised the name of the new state governor without consulting the state government.

An ED source said it would soon initiate the legal process for taking Mondal to Delhi and question him at the agency's headquarters in the national capital. The Central Bureau of Investigation which is conducting a parallel probe in the case, had first arrested Mondal on August 11 this year. Since then, he had been in judicial custody at the Asansol Special Correctional Home.

The internal grievance has been reflected over the comments by Trinamool Congress legislator and West Bengal minister of state for food department, Jyotsna Mandi, who herself hails from a tribal background.

Former president of West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE), Manik Bhattacharya will now be presented at the same court on October 25. After arrest, ED officials took him to ESI Hospital at Joka on southern outskirts of Kolkata for medical check-up and from there he was presented at a lower court in Kolkata.

According to CBI sources, the first step of the controversy was to identify those to be illegally recruited against monetary consideration as well identifying those eligible candidates whose names would be chucked out from the merit list to accommodate the ineligible ones. The second step of controversy was on how to change the marks or rather increase the marks of the ineligible candidates in the commission's server to accommodate them in the merit list.

According to sources, over Rs 16 crore have been recovered till now from the Garden Reach residence of Amir Khan, who allegedly launched a mobile gaming application named E-Nuggets, which was designed for the purpose of defrauding the public.

The chit fund bubble burst at the end of 2012 and because of the combined pressure of different central agencies, the Ponzi activities totally dried up by the beginning of 2014. Besides the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED), other agencies like the Securities & Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO), the investigation arm of the Union ministry of corporate affairs, also became active in the matter. The combined pressure of these four agencies forced the Ponzi entities to go underground by closing down several offices and deactivating their agents' network.

ED counsel Phiroze Edulji said the name of the company is Symbiosis Merchants Private Limited. While Arpita Mukherjee is one of the two directors in the company, the other director is her sister's husband, Kalyan Dhar. Edulji informed the court that initially the company's share price was Rs 10 apiece, which skyrocketed to Rs 1,000 per share within a very short span of time. According to Edulji, these are clear indications that the share price of the company was inflated artificially by channelising the proceeds of the WBSSC scam which amounted to around RS 2.70 crore.
