Tesla increases Model 3, Model Y ranges with 2022 model year

In an overnight update to its online configurator, Tesla changed the ranges of several of its most popular Model 3 and Model Y trims. Model years are not as big a deal with Tesla as it is with most other automakers since the electric automaker doesn't wait for a new model year to implement changes in its vehicles.

In a tweet on Sunday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said the rollback was due to "some issues" with version 10.3. "Seeing some issues with 10.3, so rolling back to 10.2 temporarily," Musk tweeted. "Please note, this is to be expected with beta software. It is impossible to test all hardware configs in all conditions with internal QA (quality assurance), hence public beta," he said.

According to the auto-tech website Electrek, a new Tesla Cybertruck sighting gives hope that the automaker might be testing a new prototype. Due to the low resolution, it's hard to glean a lot of information from the footage, but there's one thing that is clear -- the vehicle has side mirrors, the report said. Previous Cybertruck sightings showed that the prototype had no side mirrors.

Gadkari said: "I have told Tesla that don't sell electric cars manufactured in China, in India. You should manufacture electric cars in our country, and also export cars from India." The government may consider lowering import duty along with offering other sops to Tesla but for that the EV major would have to invest in setting up a manufacturing facility in the country.

The price of Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus went from $39,990 to $41,990, Tesla Model 3 Long Range AWD price stayed at $49,990 and Tesla Model 3 Performance price went from $56,990 to $57,990, auto-tech website Electrek reported on Wednesday. The most significant change is the $2,000 price increase to the Model 3 Standard Range Plus, which has been Tesla's cheapest car.
