Sundar got the wickets of DC skipper David Warner (21), Sarfaraz Khan (10) and Aman Hakim Khan (4) within six balls as Delhi Capitals slumped to 62/5 after electing to bat first on winning the toss. Manish Pandey (34 off 27) and Axar Patel (34 off 34) revived the innings a bit but Delhi Capitals lost wickets in a heap again as they ended up with a below-par score at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium here.

With Delhi Capitals having opened their account in IPL 2023, Warner said they are looking forward to winnings a few more games. Warner said that Prithvi Shaw, who has been struggling for form, has been left out with fellow-Mumbai Ranji player Sarfaraz Khan coming into the playing XI. SRH were restricted to 134/7 in 20 overs in front of CSK's brilliant bowling performances led by Jadeja. In response, the openers gave a strong start to CSK. Despite a slump in the run rate in the middle overs, Conway's unbeaten 77 off 57 laced with 12 boundaries and a six helped the hosts to seal the win with eight balls remaining.

CSK bowlers were at their best as they didn't let SRH batters pace up the innings. After a modest start in the powerplay, SRH scored 57 runs in the middle overs with just four boundaries and a maximum and also lost four wickets in quick succession, getting reduced to 102/5 after 15 overs.

"This pitch is 50-50 because it is slightly cloudy. There might be dew so it is always better to chase. All packed together on the points table, we need to do well and not look at the table at this moment. Combination-wise, we have been fortunate because we haven't had all players available. The headaches start later when everyone becomes available," CSK skipper MS Dhoni said at the toss.

Chasing 193, SRH got off to a slow start as they were reduced to 25/2 within four overs. Sunrisers suffered an early blow as Jason Behrendorff got the big fish Harry Brook, the centurion from the last game, in the second over. Brook went for the pull but he hit the splice of the bat and the ball went straight up. Suryakumar Yadav ran in from cover to take a catch.

Put in to bat first, Mumbai Indians had a modest start as they scored 53/1 in the Power-play. After two tight overs, Rohit Sharma hit a hat-trick of fours to Washington Sundar to accelerate the innings. In the process, the MI skipper completed 6000 runs in the IPL before falling in the fifth over off the bowling of Marco Jansen.

"Wicket looks slightly drier, hopefully, it gets better with the dew. No change in the 16. We'll see how conditions play out and adjust from there. Our fielding needs to improve. We are improving game by game. It's about guys exploring options and trusting them," said SRH skipper Aiden Markram at the toss.

With Brooks' brilliant 100 off 55 balls, including 12 boundaries and three maximums, skipper Markram 50 off 26 along with Abhishek Sharma (32 off 17) and Heinrich Klaasen's (16 off 6) quickfire), SRH posted the season's highest total on the board. Brook gave a flying start to SRH, hitting Umesh Yadav for three boundaries.
