Samsung to use 100% recycled plastics in all its mobile phones by 2050

The world's largest smartphone maker said it plans to use recycled plastic materials in all its new flagship Galaxy smartphones and stop using plastics in packaging by 2025, reports Yonhap news agency. It also aims to use 100 per cent recycled plastic parts in all of its smartphone products by 2050.
201 mn mobile phones shipped in India in 2022 at 12% annual decline

According to the IDC, the India smartphone market exited 2022 with 144 million shipments (the lowest since 2019), with a 10 per cent decline YoY. Feature phone shipments stood at 57 million, a drop of 18 per cent YoY. Samsung, Xiaomi and Transsion were the leading companies in the total mobile phone market. The fourth quarter of 2022 declined 27 per cent.
Lava announces new 6GB variant of 'Blaze 5G' smartphone

The new Blaze 5G 6GB variant will go on sale at a discounted price of Rs 11,499 on February 15. However, the price will increase to Rs 11,999 from February 16 onwards, the company said in a statement.It will be available on e-commerce platforms -- Lava E-store and Amazon. The Blaze 5G comes with a glass back design in two colours-- Glass Green and Glass Blue.

Premium segment at highest spot, 5G phones at 32% market share in India

Samsung led the market in 2022 in terms of shipment value share with a 22 per cent share, followed by Apple, in the country, according to Counterpoint Research. However, in terms of shipment volume, Xiaomi led the market in 2022 with a 20 per cent share, closely followed by Samsung. Xiaomi slipped to third position in Q4 2022 with Samsung and vivo capturing first and second spots respectively.
Coca-Cola to launch branded smartphone in India?
