Flying object repulsed by BSF at Indo-Pak border in Jammu

"Today morning at about 0530 hrs, a blinking red and yellow light in the sky observed by our forward troops in Arnia sector near to the IB," BSF said. "Our troops immediately fired 25 LMG rds on the flying object due to which it gained some height and went towards Pak side. Area being searched with help of police."
JCO martyred, terrorist killed in Rajouri encounter

Defence spokesman Lt Colonel Devender Anand said, "Based on specific input, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by the Indian Army and the local police at Danna village, Thanamandi, Rajouri district. During the search operation in the forested area of the village, the search party, led by JCO Subedar Ram Singh, was fired upon by terrorist from a nearby densely forested area.

There are apprehensions that Pakistan's ISI may push Afghan militia into Jammu and Kashmir to disturb the prevailing security scenario. In this regard, they have anticipated that the redeployment of Pakistani terrorist groups like Lashkar- e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), who have targeted Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of India in the past, may be activated again.

Internet facility remained uninterrupted in Kashmir as did the movement of private transport. People moved about in Srinagar city and other cities and towns of the Valley without any restrictions although pedestrian movement was less because of the public holiday on Sunday. Terror module busted in Jammu, 4 JeM terrorists arrested

Police said JeM terrorists and their associates have been arrested by Jammu Police in a drive to root out presence of terrorists in Jammu. "They were planning collection of arms dropped by drones and supply to active terrorists of Jaish-e- Mohammed in Kashmir valley; planting a vehicle based IED in Jammu before 15th August and reconnaissance of important targets in other parts of the country," police said.
2 from outside purchased property in J&K since August 2019: MHA

Two persons from outside J&K have purchased two properties in Jammu and Kashmir since August 2019, the minister said. Responding to a question as to "whether any hardship or impediments are being faced by the government and people of other states while buying properties in Jammu and Kashmir", the minister said that no such instance has been reported to the UT government so far.
BJP leader, wife shot dead by terrorists in J&K's Anantnag

According to sources, terrorists barged inside the house of Ghulam Rasool Dar, who was also a 'Sarpanch' (Village Head), and fired indiscriminately critically injuring him and his wife. They were taken to a hospital where they were declared dead. Police personnel have reached the spot. The area has been cordoned off and a search operation has been launched to nab the terrorists.
Terror funding case: NIA raids 56 locations of banned J&K Jamaat

An NIA spokesperson said that the anti-terror probe agency, along with the CRPF and the Jammu and Kashmir Police, carried out searches in Srinagar, Budgam, Ganderbal, Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora, Anantnag, Shopian, Pulwama, Kulgam, Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar, and Rajouri districts.

"One unidentified terrorist killed. One AK-47 rifle and one pistol recovered. Search going on," a police officer said. Earlier, the firefight between terrorists and security forces took place after a joint team of the police and the army cordoned off the area and launched a search operation on the basis of specific information about presence of terrorists.
Decline in terror activities in J&K post abrogation of Art 370: Security forces

According to security forces, in 2018 there were 318 terror incidents, which came down to 173 in 2019 and 142 in 2020. Till July 31 this year, 57 incidents were reported. The forces stated that in 2018 a total of 254 terrorists were killed in action, in 2019 it came down to 158 and again in 2020 it went up to 221 terrorists. Till July 31 this year, a total of 90 terrorists have been killed in the valley.
