The Italian Prime Minister met with the delegation at the Presidential Palace in Rome on Tuesday. The families arrived in Rome on Tuesday morning as part of a series of meetings being organised by the Israeli Ministry for Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism in collaboration with the Israeli Foreign Ministry.

Some 2,000 troops have been put on alert to move into the Gulf as USS Gerald Ford and USS Eisenhower aircraft carriers with fighter aircraft are moving close to Israeli waters.

Israel said that its war on Hamas is aimed at destroying the group’s infrastructure, and has vowed to eliminate the entire organization.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have already staged 'limited' raids to fight Palestinian gunmen and say they are targeting sites where Hamas are assembling as they prepare to resist a wider Israeli invasion, Daily Mail reported.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Economy Minister Nir Barka warned that it would “eliminate Hezbollah” if it follows through on threats to throw its military support behind Hamas, reports The New York Post.

He made the remarks at the Presidential Palace here on Sunday on Sunday while addressing representatives and family members of those held hostages by the militant group. The meeting was organised by the Hostages and Missing Families Forum which is spearheading the movement to bring back the hostages.

As for the hundreds of thousands of Israeli Defence Forces reservists along the Gaza border, Lerner said they were "currently being trained, equipped, and also tasked if they need to mobilise with specific tasks that will help us achieve our goal to destroy Hamas once and for all".

"Is the Lebanese state really willing to jeopardise what is left of Lebanese prosperity and Lebanese sovereignty for the sake of terrorists in Gaza?" Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus wrote on X on Sunday.  

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) has alleged that Syria has been extending support to attacks on Israel. Sources in the IDF told IANS that the firing was held on Sunday early morning. Meanwhile, Syrian state-run news agency SANA said Israel carried out airstrikes against the Aleppo and Damascus airports earlier this morning, damaging runways.

Two siblings, Oliver and Aniya, were seen at holding placards seeking release of their cousin sister Sharon Konio Aloni (35), her husband David Konio (38), and their children Emia Aloni (5), Konio Ema (3) and Yuly Konio (3). With tears rolling down their cheeks, Oliver and Aniya told IANS that they want the government, civil societies and people across the globe to help in bringing back their family members alive.
