Israeli Forces Eliminate Four Top Hamas Figures at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza

The individuals identified as casualties include Raad Thabet, purportedly the head of Hamas's recruitment and procurement department, and Mahmoud Khalil Zakzuk, identified by the IDF as the deputy commander of Hamas's rocket unit in Gaza City. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported the elimination of four high-ranking Hamas leaders during operations at Gaza City's Al-Shifa hospital, where several members of the militant group were taking refuge.

According to IDF statements, Dweik held a significant role as a senior intelligence officer within Hamas and was allegedly involved in a 2002 shooting incident in the West Bank resulting in the deaths of four Israeli citizens. Zakaria Najib was described as a senior operative based in Hamas's West Bank headquarters, implicated in planning and executing attacks against Israel in that region.

The IDF declared ongoing exchange of fire within the premises of Al-Shifa hospital and reported the neutralization of approximately 200 Hamas members inside the facility. Furthermore, the IDF announced the elimination of several Hamas gunmen in southern Gaza's Khan Younis area and disclosed aerial attacks by the Israel Air Force in the al-Amal and al-Quarara regions, primarily to support ground operations.

Sources within the Israel Defense Ministry informed IANS that the IDF continues combing operations within Al-Shifa and Al-Nasser hospitals, where additional Hamas operatives remain entrenched.
