Asked by a reporter if Biden would call Khan "soon", Psaki said on Monday: "I don't have anything to predict at this point in time." While officials at various levels of the US government have spoken to their Pakistani counterparts, Biden has not reached out personally to Khan. The reporter said that while Biden was "mid-meeting" with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 24, Khan at the UN delivered "some scathing criticism of the US's actions in Afghanistan.

He said Pakistan was "extremely concerned" about the threat of terrorism from Afghanistan, particularly from the TTP, which had carried out thousands of attacks against Pakistan from the Afghan territory with the sponsorship and support of "certain hostile intelligence agencies", The Express Tribune reported.

"Imran Khan is also called 'selected' and a 'puppet'. We don't want anyone to interfere in our affairs, just like we don't in other countries' affairs," the Taliban spokesperson said, Naya Daur Media tweeted.

The statement by Khan came in a tweet after the conclusion of the 20th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Council of Heads of State (SCO-CHS) Summit, where regional leaders, including Khan, met to discuss the situation in Afghanistan following the US withdrawal from the war-torn country, the Dawn reported.

Addressing a joint press conference along with Tajikistan's President Emomali Rehman in Dushanbe on Friday, Khan said he will try to convince the Afghan Taliban as there were concerns about the situation in Panjshir. He added that Pakistan and Tajikistan wanted the issue in the valley to be resolved through talks.

While addressing Pakistan-Tajikistan business forum in Tajik capital Dushanbe,to attract foreign investment Pakistan PM Imran Khan interrupted a man reciting poetry critical of the prime minister. At first, the state-run Pakistan Television cut off his poem then PM himself interrupted him urging to speak about the matters related to business.
