Opposition in Pakistan plans alternative strategies if no-confidence motion fails
Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), the joint opposition alliance campaigning to oust the Imran Khan government through a no-confidence motion in the National Assembly, has planned different strategies to continue its political offensive against the Prime Minister in case the motion fails. Sources say that PDM has chalked out different options - Plans B and C, if their initial Plan A of the no-confidence motion fails.

The PPP Chairman said that Khan had deliberately damaged the Kashmir cause by issuing statements in favour of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of the 2019 elections in India. He made the remarks while addressing a press conference on Sunday at the Zardari House along with former prime minister and opposition leader in the Senate Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, Senator Sherry Rehman, Faisal Karim Kundi and Shazia Marri.

Imran Khan wants to emulate India's foreign policy
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday lauded India for having an "independent foreign policy" that was favourable to its own people, Express Tribune reported. He maintained that like India -- which imported oil from Russia despite American sanctions and despite being an ally of the US -- his foreign policy would also favour the people of Pakistan, the report said.

In a statement issued on Saturday shortly after PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari warned the government of a sit-in, the joint opposition said that it would not allow Pakistan's internal political situation and political wrangling to affect the OIC meetings. In conversation with a private television channel, the MQM-P convener said that in light of the no-trust motion, the ruling party's government faces a significant threat and if it does not navigate the political minefield successfully, it will not survive. "If the advisers are correct, a decision can be made to save democracy and Pakistan. The PTI government may survive, but the prime minister is unlikely to," he added, Express Tribune reported.
