VP election today to witness fight between Dhankar, Alva

While the number jacks up in favour of the NDA candidate, Alva, a senior politician, has pitched for a conscious vote. The voting will begin in Parliament House complex and MPs will cast their ballots. The Vice President is elected by an electoral college consisting of members of both Houses of Parliament, in accordance with the system of proportional representation by means of the single transferable vote and the voting in such election is by secret ballot.
Exit polls give BJP slight edge in Goa; CM circumspect

While the BJP had gone into the elections with its slogan '22 plus in 2022', Sawant said that even if the party is stuck at 17-18 seats, it would seek help from Independent MLAs to form government. The ABP C-Voter Exit Poll has predicted between 13 and 17 seats for the BJP, and between 12 and 16 seats for the Congress. The AAP is projected to win 1-5 seats.
Goa heading again for a hung assembly: Opinion Poll

This was revealed by the final results of the C Voter ABP News opinion poll released on the evening of February 7. The poll results also show that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is on its way to becoming a serious player in Goa politics. According to the results of the poll, the BJP is projected to win between 14 to 18 seats, well short of the majority mark of 21 seats in the Goa assembly which has 40 seats.
Shiv Sena, NCP announce alliance ahead of Goa polls

Addressing a joint press conference in Panaji, Sena Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut and NCP's senior leader Praful Patel said that the two parties had approached the Congress to extend Maharashtra's Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance to Goa, but added that they did not receive a favorable response from the Congress leadership.

"Of the five states going to the polls, we shall be contesting in three states. We plan to work out alliances with like-minded parties," Pawar told mediapersons here. He said that in Uttar Pradesh, the NCP would be part of the Samajwadi Party-led alliance, while in Manipur, the party is cobbling up an understanding with the Congress, with which it shares power in Maharashtra's Maha Vikas Aghadi government.
