French Open: Sania-Lucie move to second round with win over Paolini-Trevisan
Saina and Lucie, seeded 10th, beat the Italian pair of Jasmine Paolini and Martina Trevisan 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 in one hour and 58 minutes. Paolini and Trevisan started serving in the first set and both the doubles teams held serves till the ninth game. However, four unforced errors in the 10th game cost Sania Mirza and Lucie Hradecka the first set and they trailed 1-0 in the match.

Swiatek hit 23 winners to 15 unforced errors in 61 minutes and lost just 10 points in seven service games. She improved to 3-0 against Riske with the victory, with all three wins coming on clay; they played in both Madrid and Rome last year. Over the course of her winning streak, the Pole star has been on the record saying that she's been taking her matches just one point at a time.That mentality was on full display against Riske at the start of the second set.

The 26-year-old, who eliminated Facundo Bagnis in the first round, was resilient against Djere throughout their two-hour, 36-minute clash on Court Philippe Chatrier. Medvedev soaked up the World No 56's powerful forehand as he scampered around the baseline, while he turned the tables in points by standing deep in the court and taking large cuts at the ball.

The 28-year-old will next face Angelique Kerber of Germany for the second time in as many weeks after the No.21 seed held off wildcard Elsa Jacquemot 6-1, 7-6(2). Sasnovich had previously defeated Raducanu 6-2, 6-4 in the second round of Indian Wells last October - Raducanu's first match after winning the US Open as a qualifier.

Advancing more straightforwardly were former champion Latvia's Jelena Ostapenko, who defeated Lucia Bronzetti 6-1, 6-4 in 67 minutes while Australian Open finalist Danielle Collins of America, who stormed past Viktoriya Tomova 6-0, 6-4 in 71 minutes.

He stepped on the court for a Grand Slam match on Monday night and got his Roland Garros campaign started with a straight-sets win over Yoshihito Nishioka of Japan.
