According to Special Public Prosecutor Akhand Pratap Singh, the authorities have secured three distinct sanction orders under Section 45 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Section 196 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). These documents are being presented in the form of supplementary chargesheets.

Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma, presiding over the case, acknowledged the ED's claim of possessing substantial evidence against Kejriwal. Despite arguments from senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, representing Kejriwal, that the arrest was politically motivated, the court reaffirmed its commitment to impartiality, stating that political considerations hold no sway in legal proceedings.

Justice Subramonium Prasad, who presided over the case, made this decision following a plea filed by the Centre on January 4.

Azad had sought permission to obtain a copy of the FIR, and despite police arguments about the sensitivity of the information, the trial court ordered the supply of the FIR and allowed Azad to consult with her counsel every alternate day for 15 minutes.

Justice Tushar Rao Gedela passed the order after having it reserved on Monday, and said that he is not inclined to pass any favourable orders.

Justice Subramonium Prasad directed that the compensation amount be deducted from the salaries of two Sub-Inspectors from the Badarpur police station who were responsible for detaining the man and placing him in the lockup.

Justice Sachin Datta also issued fresh notice to BBC (India) on the plea.

However, as part of the resolution, the court has directed all 24 individuals linked to the case to perform "basic cleaning work" for three days at four different police stations.

A division bench of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subramonium Prasad passed the order after having reserved it on May 17. The court was dealing with NGO Social Jurist's PIL.
